How checkout works at Raindrops Greenery — step by step
Exactly what to expect from menu browse to order placed to delivery confirmed. No surprise fees, no upsells, no friction.
If you've never ordered cannabis delivery in New York City, the process can look opaque from the outside — payment, ID verification, age gates, delivery windows, all the friction stacked into a 30-second checkout. Here's exactly how it works at Raindrops, start to finish, so you know what to expect before you tap "Order."
Step 1 — Confirm your ZIP is covered
Before you fall in love with a product, check that we deliver to you. Drop your ZIP on the coverage map on the home page. The map will pulse to your neighborhood and confirm we serve you — or tell you we don't (yet).
We cover Manhattan plus parts of Brooklyn (Williamsburg, Greenpoint) and Queens (Long Island City). If your ZIP isn't on the list, our delivery page lists every covered ZIP and the average ETA for each cluster.
Step 2 — Browse the menu
The main menu shows everything in stock across three categories: Flower Strains, Pre-Rolls, and Edibles. Each product card includes:
- A photo (real product photography from the brand)
- The strain name and the brand or grower
- The strain type — Indica, Sativa, Hybrid, etc.
- THC% (and CBD% when applicable)
- The size — 3.5g, 7g, 10mg gummies, etc.
- The price — the final, tax-free price
You can filter by:
- Category — Flower, Pre-Rolls, Edibles, or All
- Strain profile — Indica, Sativa, Hybrid leans
- Price range — from low to top-shelf
- Potency — minimum THC% (Flower only)
- Size — 3.5g, 7g, etc.
- Brand — search-as-you-type filter
- Deals only — toggles to surface curated picks
Not sure where to start? The strain finder quiz takes 30 seconds and returns three matched picks based on how you want to feel.
Step 3 — Open a product card
Tap any product card to open the detail dialog. You'll see:
- The full product description from the brand
- All available size variants if there are multiple (e.g., 3.5g and 7g of the same strain)
- A breakdown of strain profile and dominant terpenes when documented
- The "Order this" button that takes you to secure checkout
For edibles, you'll see per-piece dose, total package dose, and onset / duration guidance. For pre-rolls, you'll see composition (pure flower vs. flower-with-kief) and pack size.
Step 4 — Tap the order button
Every product card and the global navigation bar surface an order button. Tapping it opens the secure checkout flow, hosted by our checkout partner.
In checkout you'll complete:
- Cart confirmation — the products you selected, sizes, quantities, and final pricing
- Delivery address — apartment, suite, or door number; cross-street if useful
- Phone number — for the driver to reach you on arrival
- Age verification — you confirm you're 21 or older
- Payment — Pay by Bank through Dutchie pay is the only form of Payment.
Final pricing and availability are confirmed at this step. If something on the menu sold out between when you opened the page and when you tapped order, checkout will surface it before you commit.
Step 5 — Order confirmation and ETA
Once your order is placed, you'll get a confirmation with:
- Order summary and total
- A delivery window (typically 50–60 minutes for Manhattan, 50–55 minutes for Brooklyn and Queens deliveries)
- The driver's contact number for the inbound handoff
If anything changes — weather, route delays, sold-out items — we'll text you proactively. No surprises at the door.
Step 6 — At the door
When the driver arrives:
- Have your government photo ID ready — driver's license, passport, or non-driver state ID. You must be 21 or older. Federal or state-issued; expired IDs don't qualify.
- The driver verifies your ID against the order.
- The driver confirms the order contents match what's in the bag.
- You take the bag. The driver leaves. Handoffs are intentionally short and clean — no upsell at the door, no tip pressure, no awkward conversation unless you start one.
What you won't see: the driver entering your home. We meet you at the lobby, sidewalk, or apartment door — whichever is your standard.
First-time customers receive a complimentary pre-roll added to the order. No code needed; it shows up in your bag.
What you don't pay
A few line items that show up at other NYC cannabis delivery services and never show up at Raindrops:
- Surprise taxes — pricing is tax-free; the menu price is the price you pay
- Delivery fee — free on every order over $25
- Service fee — none
- "Convenience" fee — none
- Surge pricing during peak hours — never
The menu price is the price. The math you do in your head before tapping order is the math the driver hands over.
Common questions
How do I pay? Pay by Bank through Dutchie Pay is the only form of payment. It is handled securely at checkout — not with the driver at the door.
Can someone else accept the delivery for me? No — the ID must match the name on the order, and the recipient must be 21 or older. If you're ordering on behalf of someone else, they need to be the one at the door with ID.
What if I want to change my order after placing it? Reach out to support as soon as possible via the contact line shown in your confirmation. If the order is already out for delivery, we usually can't change the contents — but we can sometimes hold or reschedule. Cancellations follow the policy in our Terms of Service.
Do you deliver to hotels? Yes, with a confirmed guest staying at the address. You'll meet the driver in the lobby with your ID. We don't deliver to unattended reception desks or concierge.
What's the return policy? For safety and compliance reasons, cannabis products cannot be returned once delivered. If there's an issue with your order, contact support within 24 hours and we'll make it right.
Is my address shared with anyone outside of Raindrops? Your address is used to fulfill the delivery and is handled per our privacy policy. It is not sold, shared with marketing partners, or used for outreach beyond your order.
